New York steps up, Giannis not enough
Carmelo Anthony scored a season-high 35 points, including the tie-breaking jumper with 3.1 seconds left in overtime, and the New York Knicks beat the Charlotte Hornets 113-111 on Friday night.
The Knicks stole the show on the day during which all NBA teams were in the court as they got their 6th home win for the season. Latvian sensation Kristaps Porzingis added 16 points and 8 rebounds, Frenchman Joakim Noah had 6 points and 8 rebounds, Spaniard Willy Hernangomez contributed 6 points and 9 rebounds, while Lithuanian Mindaugas Kuzminskas scored 2 points. For the losing side, French star Nicolas Batum flirted with the triple double (18 p., 9 r., as.) and Italian sharp shooter Marco Belinelli was the top scorer with 19 points.
